Thermal Dryer

Description

ASG Machine‘s thermal drying systems represent the final drying stage in a PET bottle washing line. Using electric heating elements to dry PET flakes, these thermal drying systems are positioned after the dewatering machine. The material first passes through the dewatering machine which reduces moisture content to approximately 20%-30%, then the thermal drying system further reduces the material’s moisture content to 1%.

Working Principle

The thermal drying system utilizes hot air to dry PET flakes, functioning similarly to a high-powered industrial blow dryer. After dewatering, the PET flakes are conveyed pneumatically and then pass through a lengthy stainless steel coil together with the hot air. As the PET flakes rotate through the conveying channel, moisture is removed with high efficiency. The system terminates with a cyclone separator that further removes water vapor, dust, and fine particles.

Depending on the production capacity of the PET washing line, a single thermal drying system is typically sufficient. However, to ensure minimum moisture content, some PET washing lines may require two or even three parallel thermal drying systems.
